About Us
We met in the fall of 2004 while in college at Milwaukee School of Engineering. I was the R.A. on a co-ed floor in the residence halls, and Tyler was one of my residents. I was a senior and Tyler was a sophomore. Due to a difference in priorities our relationship was on/off for about 2 years, but something just kept us coming back to each other. We moved in together in the spring of 2007 and never looked back.
Engagement
I am a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan (I like to say it is in my blood). My family is fortunate enough to have season tickets and I am able to make it to games quite often, since everyone knows I won't turn down the chance to go! Tyler and I had tickets to the November 7, 2010 Packers vs Cowboys game, which was on a Sunday night. We decided to spend the weekend in Green Bay so that we didn't have a long drive home Sunday night. We headed up to Lambeau on Saturday, November 6. I had a feeling we were going to get engaged this weekend, but I had no idea the surprises that were in store! Tyler and I hung around Lambeau, walked over to look at the new Ray Nitschke field and went shopping at the Packer Pro Shop. We had planned to take a tour of Lambeau Field, so before the tour Tyler suggested we put our shopping bags in the car. As I was getting them in the trunk, I turned around and he was down on one knee! I was surprised and of course immediately said yes. And then proceeded to ask him why he chose the trunk of the car as the place to propose! He admitted he had been trying to do it all day, but felt self-conscious of the people around.
He wouldn't let me call anyone, so we went on the tour of Lambeau and it was so special that we had this new secret to keep! Neither of us could stop smiling. After the tour, we planned to grab dinner at Curly's Pub. As we walk up and notice the long line of people waiting for tables, Tyler proceeds to steer me right past them. I figured something was up, but didn't know what. Sure enough, he surprised me with the fact that both sets of parents were there waiting to celebrate with us!! It was such a surprise and we all had so much fun. Apparently Tyler had this in the works for several months. He is so thoughtful.
Due to some family-friend connections with the Dallas Cowboys, I knew that my cousin would be joining us for tailgating before the game on Sunday. However, when we pulled up to our typical parking spot, I screamed in delight as my sister, aunt and uncle were standing there waiting for us! It was such a fabulous weekend and truly perfect for me and us.
